TOArts serves as the private fundraising and presenting partner for the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, functioning as Ventura County's premier arts resource organization.
Our comprehensive programming spans arts workforce development, education, accessibility, and world-class performances.
Workforce Development lies at the heart of our mission.
Youth Arts Leadership Academy (YALA) provides year-round training for high school and college students, developing essential life skills—project management, teamwork, budgeting—alongside artistic growth through hands-on experience and professional mentorship.
Summer Creators Conservatory offers intensive two-week programs where students create, produce, and perform original works with professional guidance.
Artist Incubator fellowship connects emerging artists with professional advisors to build sustainable creative careers and entrepreneurial skills. Central to this work is our advocacy for thriving wages—ensuring artists can sustain careers locally rather than migrating to larger markets. We position artists as essential workers deserving competitive compensation and create pathways to income stability through paid opportunities and professional advancement.
Beyond economic sustainability, our programming addresses the critical intersection of arts and mental health. Creative expression reduces isolation, builds social connection, and provides therapeutic benefits essential to community wellbeing—outcomes particularly vital in post-pandemic recovery.
Our presenting work includes 70+ diverse performances annually attracting 52,000+ patrons, with our cross-subsidization model allowing commercially viable shows to underwrite mission-driven programming. This integrated approach—combining presenting, education, artist services, and accessibility—positions TOArts as essential cultural infrastructure while maintaining fiscal sustainability through diversified revenue streams.
