Every BAC meeting includes legislative updates impacting businesses from city, county, state and federal representatives. All members are welcome to attend this virtual meeting; those who want to advocate for the rights of local businesses are invited to join the committee. Through our strong relationships with elected officials at all levels (city, county and state), we advocate for the rights of local businesses and take positions on proposed ordinances, rulings and legislation. The Business Advocacy Committee (BAC) is part of the WVCBA’s commitment to representing the interests of business with government. The mission of the BAC is to carry out an advocacy program on behalf of WVCBA's membership and business community within the governmental and political arenas and foster effective working relationships.

Every year, the WVCBA brings together the business community to salute our local military heroes for their service to our country and community. Join us at the 28th Annual Military Appreciation Dinner to hear from keynote speaker, Colonel Commander Christopher Lutz, Commander of the 146th Airlift Wing, and to celebrate this year's honorees for their military service, community involvement, and volunteer efforts. Dinner will be held at Holiday Inn Oxnard Ventura, formerly Courtyard Marriott.

Join us for WVCBA's 2026 Annual Meeting on Friday, January 30, from 3:00-5:00 pm at the Museum of Ventura County where you will:

-Enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and networking with our 2026 Board of Directors, staff, fellow members, and other guests.
-Hear from the Museum's Executive Director Elena Brokaw about the history of our local chambers of commerce.
-Reflect on the impact of 2025, recognize outstanding member contributions, and look ahead to the goals and opportunities shaping the year to come.
-Honor outgoing Board members and witness the installation of the 2026 Board of Directors.
