The Oxnard Ambassadors were established in 1968 as a group of business owners and members of pioneer families who were considered the "movers and shakers" of the Oxnard community. Membership is by invitation only and includes a maximum of 30 active members at any one time. During the year, Ambassador activities support various worthy causes including scholarships established at California State University Channel Islands and Oxnard College for Oxnard students, the healing garden at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Military Citizen of the Year award presented at Oxnard's Community Awards Night, free military band concerts for the general community, and special business projects. |
