Ever wonder where the materials in your green recycling container go each week? They are delivered to Agromin, one of California's largest organic materials recyclers and an eco-friendly soil manufacturer.
Agromin receives green materials (lawn clippings, leaves, brush and wood) from homes throughout Ventura, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Orange counties and processes the materials at one of its five facilities. The material is cleaned, chopped and laid out in long composting rows where Mother Nature turns the materials into rich, natural compost. Agromin uses a safe, organic and scientific system to formulate more than 200 varieties of soil products--from planting soil to compost to mulches. While many businesses accept organic waste, few specialize in the sustainable processing, managing, recycling and marketing model that Agromin pioneered. Since Agromin's founding, it has been responsible for diverting more than 3.25 million tons of organic waste from landfills and returning the resulting soil back to the land. This process helps close the green recycling loop.
