Highway

Oxnard is located 60 miles northwest of Los Angeles and 35 miles south of Santa Barbara on U.S. 101, a major north/south transportation corridor. Major state highways providing access to Oxnard include Highway 1 (the Pacific Coast Highway) and Highway 126, which offers a connection with Interstate 5 (the Golden State Freeway) 27 miles to the east.

Port

The Port of Hueneme is the only deep water harbor between Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area and is the U.S. Port of Entry for California’s central coast region. It serves international businesses and ocean carriers from the Pacific Rim and Europe. The Port of Hueneme ranks among the top seaports in California for general cargo throughput. The Port’s governing body, the Oxnard Harbor District, is the Grantee for U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone #205.

Air

The Oxnard Airport is located on the coastal edge of the 200 square mile Oxnard Plain, a mile and a half from the coastline on the southwest corporate limits of the City of Oxnard. The airport is classified as a non-hub commercial service airport. The airport is conveniently located a mile and a half west of Oxnard’s business district and within a three minute drive from the beach.

Rail Service

The Oxnard Transportation Center is a spacious and modern rail station providing connections to local and distant transit services. This regional multi-modal transportation facility offers connections between Los Angeles, Metrolink commuter rail service and Amtrak. The Center showcases an indoor passenger waiting area complete with concessions, public telephones, comfortable seating, restrooms and security service.

Mass Transit

Gold Coast Transit provides 21 fixed routes and paratransit services within Oxnard and in surrounding communities. The service area is approximately 91 square miles with a population of 375,000. Ventura Intercity Service Transit Authority (VISTA) provides transit along ten regular routes including highways 101 and 126. VISTA serves most of east and west county cities, Santa Barbara, California State University Channel Islands, and has a connection at Woodland Hills-Warner Center.
